What are Relative Handicaps

One of the several unique features of LYS is our Relative Handicap calculator.  What do we mean by Relative Handicap?

Golf is made up of 4 main elements - Driving, Approach Play, Short Game and Putting.  Your golf handicap is actually just an average of these 4 elements and in reality a 12 handicapper is unlikely to be of that standard at any single part of their game.  They will be better at some and worse at others.

Using research and huge quantities of test data, we've designed a matrix of handicap standards for each element of the game.  Based on your own performance data LYS will show you your Relative Handicap for each of the following.

  • Fairways Hit
  • Greens in Regulation
  • Up and Down success
  • Sand Saves
  • Putts per Round
  • Pars per round
  • Birdies per round
  • Par 3 average
  • Par 4 average
  • Par 5 average
with more to follow in future updates...

Without Relative Handicap a statistic is just a number.

With Relative Handicap we bring your game to life.
